ACES-STAR Postgraduate Program – Fees & Scholarships

ACES-STAR is two-year programme studying in three centres of European excellence in aquaculture research; Scotland, Greece-Crete and France. Gain practical and theoretical skills needed for a successful career in aquaculture through industry-led research programmes, internships and fieldwork.

The course includes three six-month semesters at the Scottish Association for Marine Science (UHI), University of Crete and Nantes University followed by a six-month dissertation with an affiliated partner of your choice. In semester two, students have a choice of three-month industry placements too.

Full Scholarships

ACES-STAR scholarships are funded by the EACEA of the European Union and meet the cost of tuition fees, insurance and provide 1,400 Euros per month to successful applicants, which will contribute towards travel, relocation and daily living expenses. Partial Scholarships

ACES-STAR offers additional places on the course with tuition fees waived and full insurance cover for the duration of the programme, thanks to Erasmus Mundus funding.

Students who are awarded a partial scholarship will have the option to defer their place for 12 months, in order to make their financial arrangements.

Self-Funded Applicants

 Tuition fees*  for the EMJMD ACES-STAR will be:

  • International Students – €5,000 per academic year
  • UK/EU Students – €2,500 per academic year

Many of the graduates of the programme attribute their professional rehabilitation to the skills they acquired through their internship and research thesis. rehabilitation and work experience.

 

If you are a person with a disability (e.g., long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments), such as those related to obtaining special items or services (e.g., third-party assistance, adaptation of the work environment, additional travel/transportation costs), then you must provide the Coordinating Institution with full details of the type of items/services and their cost within two weeks of your arrival for the first semester. Payment for these items/services will be made on October 1 during the remaining 22 months of EMJM by the Coordinating Foundation or for the number of months the items or services are used or produced to support your disability. For one-time costs, items/services will be paid within 1 month of purchase. The maximum amount of expenses available for a student with a disability is 60,000.
