Β) Horizon Europe e-leaflet: information brochure about Horizon Europe (2021 – 2027)

Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation with a budget of €95.5 billion. It is European Commission’s most ambitious framework programmes aiming to reshape the European innovation ecosystem.

The programme facilitates collaboration and strengthens the impact of research and innovation in developing, supporting and implementing EU policies while tackling global challenges.  It supports creating and better dispersing of excellent knowledge and technologies.

PRAXI Network, as the National Contact Point for Horizon Europe, has drawn up an e-leaflet containing all useful information about Horizon Europe (2021 – 2027).

Γ) Widening Participation & Spreading Excellence

Widening Participation and Spreading Excellence actions under Horizon Europe aim at enhancing the scientific and innovation capacity of research based organisations from countries with low performance in research and innovation, namely the “widening countries”. They are based on strategic cooperation with internationally leading partners for the transfer of knowledge and implementation of reforms in order to forge long-standing research collaborations and enjoy higher recognition.

Actions under Widening Participation and Spreading Excellence have a dedicated intervention logic, addressed to various levels of beneficiaries. They span from individual researchers, research teams, organisations and ecosystems. The ultimate goal is to reduce the disparity in R&I performance between member states, so that EU Research Area can become a place where talents and ideas circulate freely and excellent research finds its way to the market. Greece, since the beginning of Horizon Europe, belongs to the widening group of countries, and therefore can  exploit numerous opportunities for capacity building and upgrade of research-based organisations.
