Code of Conduct

PRAXI Network strives to create an environment where all members are supported both as individuals and as professionals, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or disability. In this way, we aim to foster a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive community that works collaboratively to support innovation, knowledge transfer at the national and European level, and strengthen the competitiveness of Greek businesses and organizations.

In addition to the General Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Public Sector Employees, we also comply with the Code of Conduct established by the Ethics and Research Integrity Committee of FORTH, as well as the Action Plan of FORTH’s Gender Equality Committee. These apply to all PRAXI Network staff, as well as to our visitors and collaborators.

Core Principles to be Followed

A. Respect and Support for Network Members

  • We are courteous in our interactions
  • We avoid personal or disparaging remarks.
  • We give colleagues the opportunity to express their thoughts.
  • We respect the professional, physical, and personal boundaries of colleagues.
  • We distinguish professional comments from those based on personal opinions.
  • We are aware of power dynamics and act to empower those in less privileged positions.
  • We promote equality among colleagues and trainees regarding access to opportunities, including social networking.
  • We ensure that feedback, when offered, is constructive and aims to foster positive dialogue.
  • We avoid judgment, discrimination, unwanted jokes, or derogatory comments based on stereotypes.
  • We support those who report breaches of the Code of Conduct.

B. Commitment to Transparency

  • We are open to discussions on how to improve the work environment and professional relationships.
  • We challenge our own assumptions about people and reflect on the sources of these assumptions.
  • We take initiatives to eliminate specific challenges or barriers that colleagues from minority groups may encounter.
  • We refrain from engaging in any overt or perceived retaliation against others.

C. Proactive Engagement

  • We intervene when others display unacceptable behavior toward a Network member.
  • We speak up when colleagues show disrespect toward a group of people, even when members of that group are not present.
  • We seek opportunities for training related to diversity and encourage others to do the same.
  • We familiarize ourselves with the FORTH Code of Conduct and the Gender Equality Committee Action Plan.

D. Reporting Violations

PRAXI Network values the initiative of its members who identify and report potential issues that need to be addressed. We strongly encourage members of our community to report possible violations of the Code of Conduct to the PRAXI Network’s Technical Supervisor, Dr. Konstantinos Vavekis. However, if you believe there may be a conflict of interest, you are encouraged to contact Dr. Vassilis Harmandaris, President of FORTH and Director of the PRAXI Network. If the matter still remains unresolved, you may contact the Research Ethics and Deontology Committee.

E. Information Systems Policies

All PRAXI Network members must be aware of and fully comply with FORTH’s Information Systems Acceptable Use Policy, available here.
