The “MIRAGE” project (Mitigation of Internet Routing Attacks Globally and Efficiently) is focused on the detection and mitigation of BGP prefix hijacking attacks, in real time with the use of fully automated techniques.

MIRAGE aims to develop the existing ARTEMIS open source tool (developed by FORTH) to detect and mitigate similar attacks, providing the following innovative services:

1. automation of system setting and attack mitigation
2. advanced attack detection
3. a mobile application and push notification system over the internet and mobile networks
4. scalable cloud services for ease of access and resilience to system failures
